USS NEW JERSEY BATTLESHIP TOUR w/ LUNCH

Monday, June 1st (10:30am-3:30pm)

Come, experience the “Big J” on a 90-minute journey through American Fire Power history on America’s most decorated battleship! Our knowledgeable tour guide will take you through the Battleship’s awesome 16″ Gun Turrets and other weapons systems, the Admiral’s and Captain’s Cabins, Navigational Bridge, Wardroom, Berthing Area and much more. On your tour, you will learn about the critical role the Battleship New Jersey played in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Middle East. After the guided tour, you will have a little time for exploring on your own and a hot lunch in the ships’ Mess, before returning to the hotel.

Alternative Monday Tour: SIGNATURE PHILADELPHIA LUNCH CRUISE

Our Philadelphia Signature Lunch Cruise is an unforgettable experience. Dine and dance on the Delaware River with views of the city’s magnificent skyline on this casual afternoon out. Enjoy a delicious, chef-prepared buffet and gorgeous views of Philadelphia’s spectacular architecture. You’ll marvel at famed city landmarks, such as the Ben Franklin Bridge, from our cozy, climate-controlled interior, and open air-roof decks. We keep the spirits flowing with a fully stocked bar, games, and lively music from our DJ. Join us for a memorable, one-of-a-kind lunch cruise experience and a Great Navy Day.

After the Lunch Cruise, enjoy a veteran guided tour of the USS New Jersey, America’s most decorated battleship! It’s a hands-on plunge into naval history that spans World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Middle East. As you step aboard this massive Iowa-class vessel you’ll explore multiple decks filled with immersive exhibits and preserved living quarters. Highlights include:  Navigation Bridge & Command Center, Main Gun Turrets, Engine Room, Crew’s Quarters & Mess Halls. Engage with wartime artifacts, listen to stories from veterans, and even try hands-on activities like operating a 40mm saluting gun. It’s a powerful blend of education, exploration, and reverence for those who served. A Great Navy Day!

HISTORIC PHILADELPHIA CITY TOUR:

Step into the heart of American history with a captivating historic tour of Philadelphia, where every cobblestone and colonial façade tells a story. Begin at Independence Hall, the birthplace of the Declaration of Independence, and trace the footsteps of the Founding Fathers through landmarks like the Liberty Bell, Elfreth’s Alley, and Franklin Court. AUTHENTIC AMISH EXPERIENCE WITH LUNCH IN AN AMISH HOME

Wednesday, June 3 (8:30am-3:30pm)

The Amish live in a whole different world and you’ll have the rare opportunity to experience life through their eyes on this unique excursion to Amish country. Not much has changed along the backroads. Horses plow the fields, Amish buggies clip-clop down country roads, and traditionally clothed Pennsylvania Dutch dot the countryside. Start the day with a video of “The Amish Experience” followed by a narrated, riding tour of the area. We will spend time with real Amish in an authentic homestead environment. There will be time a little to explore the shopping at Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse, PA, famous for quilts and baked goods like Shoofly Pie. The highlight of our day will be a stop at Judiah Lapp’s farm to enjoy a traditional family-style lunch in their home. This is a unique once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the somewhat secret lifestyle of the Amish.  A truly unique and incredible day!

Alternative Wednesday Tour: HISTORIC VALLEY FORGE TOUR

Wednesday, June 3 (9:30AM-12:30PM)

As an alternative for history buffs and Patriots who have been to Amish Country before will enjoy a mostly riding tour of Valley Forge National Historical Park’s 10-mile loop. Your knowledgeable guide will interpret the Park’s history and monuments, at each tour stop, including Muhlenberg’s brigade (reconstructed soldiers’ huts), the National Memorial Arch, Washington’s Headquarters, the Grand Parade ground, and more.

Event Cancellation Insurance allows you to receive a refund of tour and banquet expenses. Cancellation Insurance expires at 11:59 pm the day before the reunion begins. No refunds are given the day of the reunion (beginning at midnight), even if you purchased cancellation insurance. Should you need to cancel your reservations please contact our office immediately by calling 817-251-3551, Monday- Friday between 9:00am-4:00pm CST or email us at info@MilitaryReunionPlanners.com. If you did not purchase cancellation insurance all tour and banquet money is non- refundable, 6 weeks prior to the reunion.

Important Reunion Notes:

  • Tours may be cancelled if a minimum of 35 people per bus is not met. In this instance you will be notified, and full refunds will be given.
  • Please understand that a certain amount of walking is necessary in order to view and explore attractions. Please consider your limitations and note any special needs on your reservation form.
  • Be sure to bring photo identification (like a driver’s license) to all events.
  • Tour times are always subject to change up until tour time. Please refer to the final itinerary available at check-in, for final Tour Departure times and location. Review the final schedule! No refunds will not be offered for missed tours.
