1 June 5 0830 – 1230 Greater Portland Overview: Lighthouses & Military Museum Overview tour of Portland highlights from the historic Old Port waterfront to Fort Allen Park overlooking Casco Bay. Guided tour of Maine Military Museum featuring the largest display of Vietnam POW uniforms and artifacts smuggled from prison. See three nearby lighthouses with admission included to the Museum at Portland Head Light at Fort Williams. Also view the Memorial to the WWII Liberty Ships next to the spark-plug shaped lighthouse. Tour will end in Portland's historic Old Port waterfront for free time. Walking maps and coupons for shops and restaurants provided. 2 June 5 1000 – 1500 Portland & Freeport Guided tour of Portland’s historic areas including a lighthouse photo stop. Hear some local legends and stories of famous Mainers and infamous visitors as you head north to Freeport village. Free time here at the LL Bean flagship store, a host of outlet shops and casual restaurants for lunch on own. Your guide will provide shopping and restaurant suggestions plus walking maps with coupons. Restaurants and shops surround LL Bean so not a lot of walking. $58.00
3 June 5 0800 – 1400 Maine Maritime Museum ~ Bath: City of Ships Guided tour to Bath, Maine where you’ll tour the Maine Maritime Museum on the site of an historic boatyard. Board a narrated, 1 hour river cruise here, sailing past the Bath Iron Works shipyard next door. Then visit a rustic boat building facility in downtown Bath where local volunteers are building a replica ship launched from here over 400 years ago. Lunch on own along the Bath waterfront. $90.00
4 June 5 0800 – 1400 Maine Maritime Museum ~ Bath: City of Ships Guided tour to Bath, Maine where you’ll tour the Maine Maritime Museum on the site of an historic boatyard. Board a narrated, 1 hour river cruise here, sailing past the Bath Iron Works shipyard next door. On your way to Freeport, see highlights of nearby Brunswick with Bowdoin College, Joshua Chamberlain and Harriet Beecher Stowe sites. Lunch on own in Freeport, home to LL Bean and a variety of outlet shops and restaurants. Lunch on own along the Bath waterfront. $90.00
5 June 6 0800 – 1500 Portsmouth Naval Shipyard & Kennebunkport Travel to Kittery, Maine for a guided tour of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, in continuous operation since 1800. You’ll have an opportunity for a group photo, tour the base museum and see the infamous jail on the riverbank. Italian buffet lunch included at the base. Make your way back to Portland with a photo stop at Nubble Lighthouse and drive through Kennebunkport. $73.00
6 June 6 0830 – 1430 Kennebunkport Tour—with Lenny the Chocolate Moose Take a guided tour of Kennebunkport. Hear the history and folklore as you drive through two shipbuilding villages on Maine’s south coast. Drive past the beaches, the Bush family compound at Walker’s Point, hear the legend of the Wedding Cake House and maritime history of sea captains and shipbuilders. Stop at the Franciscan Monastery with its seaside shrines and gardens before having lunch on your own in Dock Square. Photo op and ice cream social with Lenny the Chocolate Moose on your return.
