U.S. Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association

Lone Star Musings

Lone Star ChapterThe chapter holds a mini reunion and group grope every year at exotic locations around the state of Texas. Our next one is currently planned for Fall 2022 at South Padre Island. All SECGRU folks are welcome to join in the fun. We try to plan activities at, and around, the hotel. Our Facebook page, Naval Cryptologic Veterans - Lone Star Chapter, will be updated with the latest information.

The NCVA Lone Star Chapter was begun over 20 years ago by a group of old salts led by long-time NCVA member Lee Mobley. The original group of approximately 10-15 met in Austin, Texas to complete the group’s by-laws and organize the groups structure from a diverse group of CTs. Over the years, membership has ebbed and grown to where the current membership stands at just over 50 and all NCVA members who live in the great State of Texas are enthusiastically encouraged to join us. There are no dues required and the Lone Star Chapter has a vibrant and very active group of spouses.

Pictured above are Lone Star Chapter members that recently attended the National Reunion, held in Fort Worth, TX, this past June. I dare say, a good time was had by all. We were more than happy to assist our NCRA folks with manning the check-in tables.

On to Charleston! A few of our members have already indicated they will travel to Charleston in 2022. Several of our members, have fond memories of riding boats out of there. It will be good to see the changes and we look forward to seeing old friends. Join us!
